Premiere Poll October 2024 Cheat Sheet

This post includes, to the best of my knowledge, all open-playstyle Classic Tetris matches in September that may be relevant to Premiere Poll panelists, with links to the Twitch VODs and This Week in Tetris writeups, if they exist. Remember that the final scoreline may not tell the full story. Numbers next to names refer to September's Premiere Poll rankings. For daily updates, and to be informed when new TWiT posts are released, be sure to join our Discord server . There are bound to be a few errors on this list, so if you notice any, please let me know. This Week in Tetris: September 10-16

There's no CTL and the CTW battle royale is over, but there's still plenty of Tetris in the leadup to the Jonas Cup. With so many players sharpening their 29 skills, venues like Challengers or CTWC Regionals offer opportunities for new names to show up on the radar and for returning veterans to show their stuff. We're always looking for new contributors, so if you're interested, join our Discord server and say hello. Huge thank you to sonic , who contributed quite a few writeups this week as well as fetching the scores for some first-round challengers matches. The numbers next to the players are their September Premiere Poll rankings, not their tournament seeds. Scores in the tables are given in thousands; an (i) or (a) next to a score indicates that the topout was intentional or aggressive, respectively. As always, let me know if you found this entertaining or useful, or if there's anything else you'd like to see. CTWC Polish Championship The Poli...

This Week in Tetris: August 27-September 9

With the Neubauer cup coming up in late September, there's been a bit of a DAS renaissance across the scene, with new competitions such as CTM's DAS Masters and Boxie's DAS Champions League showcasing the playstyle. (DAS events are, unfortunately, outside the scope of this column.) There is still plenty of open-playstyle Tetris happening, though, including a huge CTW Battle Royale finale, a history-making August Masters Event, a decider-filled CTL playoff bracket, and a stacked Minneapolis regional. We're always looking for new contributors, so if you're interested, join our Discord server and say hello. This time around, sonic joins our team, covering the Minneapolis regional, while stolenshortsword steps back in to help cover the CTL playoffs. Huge thank you to you both. The numbers next to the players are their September Premiere Poll rankings, not their tournament seeds. Scores in the tables are given in thousands; an (i) or (a) next to a score indicat...

This Week in Tetris: Season 26 CTL Regular Season Roundup

The regular season of the Classic Tetris League's twenty-sixth edition is in the books. In some ways, the results reenforced what we already know: Tristop built on recent success by finishing 7-1 at the top of 1A along with Blue Scuti and Myles, while Dog and Sidnev, the two favorites in 1B, finished first and second, respectively. Just under the top positions, though, are signs that the status quo may be beginning to crack. Nek0's breakout 6-2 season saw him make the playoffs for the first time, and big scores from iBall and Portal show that, if they can play a bit more consistently, they could put themselves in the mix as well. We're always looking for new contributors, so if you're interested, join our Discord server and say hello. The numbers next to the players are their August Premiere Poll rankings, not their tournament seeds. (The September edition of the poll was released while this post was being written.) Box scores and recaps of matches from the firs...
